Understanding the energy shifts

How Transits Can Influence Your Child’s Behavior

As someone who loves working with Human Design and supporting parents, I’ve spent a lot of time helping parents understand their children’s unique energetic blueprints and how they interact with the world. As a parent myself, I know that it can sometimes feel like there’s no rhyme or reason to a child’s behavior; especially when things seem to shift overnight. But what if I told you that certain cosmic energy shifts could explain the intensity of those moments?

Let me share a recent experience with you that completely changed the way I look at parenting; particularly the way we approach those challenging moments.

The Rave New Year & The Energy Shift

At the start of this year (I’m not talking about the traditional January 1st, but rather the Rave New Year, when the Sun moved into Gate 41), I began sharing some parenting advice on my Instagram profile. The energy felt aligned for me to start offering insights about how we can parent with more awareness and understanding of our children’s designs.

For weeks, everything seemed to be flowing well. My son, who is three, had been in a really good place. He was happy, comfortable in his body, and his energy felt calm and centered. Of course, as any parent knows, there are always those little moments of drama, but overall, we were in a peaceful rhythm.

But then, something shifted.

Around the 7th of February, when the Sun moved into Gate 49, my son’s behavior suddenly changed. It was subtle at first; he seemed more demanding and emotional than usual. But by Friday, it was undeniable. He was trying to bargain over the silliest things; asking for something and then getting upset when it was given to him. One minute he wanted something, and the next, he didn’t want it at all. It was like walking on eggshells trying to navigate his shifting moods, and it was intense.

At first, I thought it was just because my husband had been away, and I had been juggling a lot on my own. I didn’t have the time or energy to track the transits as closely as I usually do. I tried to remain calm, but it wasn’t easy. I kept wondering: was this just a normal developmental leap? Or was there something else at play?

Recognizing the Influence of the Transits

That’s when it hit me; Gate 49 had entered the transit, and I realized something profound: my son has Gate 19 defined in his chart, the hanging gate opposite Gate 49. When Gate 49 is activated, it can stir up certain energies in children with Gate 19, like heightened sensitivity and a strong need for clear boundaries. This wasn’t just a developmental leap; it was an energetic activation.

For those who are familiar with Human Design, Gate 49 is a gate of principles, revolution, and emotional intensity. When it is activated, it can bring up the need for transformation and the questioning of what feels “right” or “wrong.” And my son, being only three, didn’t yet have the ability to fully articulate or make sense of this influx of energy. As a result, his behavior became more unpredictable.

The Power of Boundaries

Now, here’s where it got interesting. In a moment of desperation, I did something that I usually don’t do: I put him in the hallway, away from the situation. This was not my typical parenting style; I’m more focused on creating a calm, connected space for my children. But in that moment, I could sense that my son needed clear boundaries. He needed to know where the line was, and I had to step into a more authoritative role, even if it felt a bit uncomfortable for me.

Interestingly, this action seemed to settle him down. I knew that the energy of Gate 49 had triggered something deep inside of him, and as his mother, I needed to guide him through it with clear, firm boundaries.

The Energy Shift & Its Impact

By now, the Sun has already moved into a new gate, and finally, the energy shifted a bit. My son is back to his usual self, more in tune with his energy. It became clear that this wasn’t just a “phase” or a random tantrum, but rather the energy of Gate 49 working through him.

And here’s the funny thing: it didn’t affect me or my daughter in the same way. We don’t have any activations in these specific energies in our charts, so we didn’t feel the impact. But my son, with Gate 19, was much more sensitive to the shift. It’s a reminder that every child’s design reacts differently to these energetic changes.

Right now, the Solar Plexus is heavily defined through the transits, and while both of my children already have a lot of activations in that center, the impact is completely different than it was just last week. With their energy already attuned to these influences, we are used to this energy now. It feels more familiar, and the way this transit is showing up in their lives is more integrated, making the experience much smoother for us all.

The Lesson: Understanding Your Child’s Design and Energy

What I’ve learned from this experience is that as a parent, it’s important not to take your child’s behavior personally. Sometimes, there are energies at play that we don’t fully understand, but by understanding their Human Design, we can be better prepared to navigate those moments with grace and clarity.

Instead of reacting to our child’s behavior in frustration, we can pause and remember that they are working through something energetically. We don’t always need to act immediately. Sometimes, it’s about letting the energy play out and being a steady presence in their lives while they learn to navigate it themselves.

Conclusion: The Power of Awareness in Parenting

When you can understand your child’s design and the influence of external energy, it completely changes your approach to parenting. It becomes less about fighting against behavior and more about understanding it. You stop looking for answers outside of yourself and learn to trust your own wisdom and your child’s process.

In my case, once I understood that my son was reacting to the transit, I didn’t feel the need to “fix” him or his behavior. I could simply allow the energy to move through him, while staying calm and consistent. It allowed me to lead with more awareness, and I didn’t take his emotional outbursts personally.

So, parents, my invitation to you is to explore the energy of your child’s design, track the transits, and see how these cosmic influences might be affecting their behavior. When you start to see the bigger picture, you might find that parenting becomes a lot more relaxed, because you’re no longer in reaction mode; you’re in awareness mode.

Let’s grow together.
